About

I’m an internet idiot, just like you. But I’m not going to treat you as an ignorant fool. — Because it’s not that we have never heard about the environment. All sincere adults are well aware of it. It’s just that we are too afraid to talk about it, and dread the idea of actually trying to do something about it. No social undertaking would ever be scarier than this one. So, consequently, we tend to act as if the environment simply doesn’t exist. We don’t think about it, we don’t talk about it, we carry on with business as usual, and certainly don’t do anything about it. We block it out as no part of our everyday reality. It’s paradoxical psychology of sorts, but hey: it’s much better that way. — More convenient.

    funny creature, yes!

Some people believe that the last living soul of this planet will do his living in the northernmost reaches of the northern hemisphere: the region of the planet which supposedly is going to be able to support life as we know it the longest. Notable for this philosophy is a rather funny creature named Danny Bloom, who’s operating with years 2121 and 3007 as focal points of imaginary time: points in time in which the conditions of human life will have become extremely hard; barely survivable. Bloom contemplates a future in which a relatively small number of people live in so-called “Polar Cities” built in Siberia, Alaska and Northern Canada, Greenland, Svalbard, and Novaja Zemlja. It would be the last era for humankind; “closing time” would be Bloom’s imaginary starting point. –

    Hello Danny.

You’re a funny creature indeed. Your philosophy is scary, I think. But I can also see that you are in possession of a point of two. Especially as I can see no real attempt at achieving a change for the better as concerns CO2 emissions taking place anywhere. To the contrary: emissions keep rising.

As it turns out, this blog seems to be off in all possible directions. Call me dedicated to “the truth” and loyal to honesty; that’ll do. As I’m trying to find out what is happening to the world, the society, and myself. — And why?

“I’m afraid we’re about to get ourselves landed in the scariest of all realms: that we are now making way for the development of a nihilist carpe diem culture, in which the past is a fucking disgrace and the future might even be a bigger disgrace, so you’d better not think too much about either the future or the past. And as concerns the present, well, there’s not much anyone can do about anything, really. So don’t think.

i am alone (maybe you too). mainly in my head. its ok though, because ive never watched a televised cricket match. and yet i saw the light, it was careering down a rusty tube and there was no way to stop it from trouncing squarely on my scone. mmm i love scones. especially with creamy sunshine and a large irregular spot of sweet sweet logic.

could anyone lend me a bandaid?

You mean Bob Geldof, eh? The Vegetarian of Love, that is. — A fine record produced in 1990, and containing a lot of strange lyrics. Some good songs too. You should check it out. It’s good. It’s short stories.

The Wall. Boomtown Rats. Band Aid. Live Aid. Solo career. Last seen during the G8 meeting in Edinburgh barking at, talking to and conversing with some of the more important VIPs of this world. Interesting character, you might add. Definitely ragged.

i KNOW who geldof is. but who IS he. apart from having a bit of blood, bone, some organs here there, toenails, bad breath, ear wax, hairy balls…

have you ever seen the movie ‘the bothersome man’ ? its german i think..

It’s not that I didn’t think you knew who Bob Geldof is. As for who he is, I don’t care. He was a teenage hero of mine: that’s who he is. Hell, he was right up there together with Kenny Dalglish and Diego Maradona. Today I am a bit too old to having heroes. But still: they used to be there. And I don’t think I agree with the popular bashing of VIP artists who actually take the time to talk about important things to powerful people. But okay: I understand what you’re hinting at here. And what worries me more is the way people who are fronting the political milieus of our times and primes are increasingly often taking on the quatities of actors, singers, game and fashion show dolls. It’s what I shall have to call the on-going imbecilation of the general public, I suppose.

I never saw any movie called “the bothersome man”. I mean: it’s not like I don’t know what it is to be the bothersome man, and as for some of the press coverage Bob Geldof (as a case in point) has received, I think he’s quite right in feeling a little angry. —

Maradona, on the other hand. Heh!! He’s becoming funnier and funnier as weeks and months go by, methinks. –

I didn’t know you had a blog. Outside of TES, that is…

    Hello there!

Yes. I do have a blog. But as you can see from looking at the archives, I only posted here for what turned out to be a matter of three months. The thing is: I got disgusted here. Both of the things I wrote about myself, and of the general philosophical line I chose to adopt here. Mind you, though, I still believe the year is 1984, and that all policy making of our times can be properly understood in terms of the ideal dystopian settings of George Orwell’s.
